Building Home-School-Community Relationships: This workshop emphasizes that education is a shared responsibility: parents and the local community working collaboratively with school staff. Participants will examine behaviors that inhibit trust, cooperation and communication and identify effective strategies that will promote mutually supportive home–school partnerships.
Building Respect for Diversity: Education professionals learn how to foster harmonic relationships utilizing techniques that develop sensitivity to and respect for people whose race and ethnicity are different. The materials shared in this workshop offer bridge-building skills to support and value diversity effectively within groups and to enable students and educational staff from different backgrounds and perspectives to work in harmony.
Learning and Thriving in a Diverse Classroom: This workshop offers participants the opportunity to address personal issues related to diversity in the classroom in order to facilitate their ability to focus honestly on ways to create a caring classroom community of learners.
